Their love story began in their school days where they both were 14 yrs old. After years of studying together, and knowing each other they fell in love and married in 2008. Their love story set the perfect example for youth today. They studied together, got successful together, and made promises they made to each other. She contributed a lot to him by being his constant support during his journey. She was his best friend with whom he shared his dream of becoming an officer and serving the country. Then, joined NDA in 1995, after which he came out becoming lieutenant. Then he was welcomed to the Battalion.  Being part of the Kargil war, He played a crucial role in facing the heavy firing from the Pakistani army. After that, he gained the title of captain. He become a major in 2005 and then joined National security guards [NSG] in 2006. There he becomes the first strong leader to complete – the “Ghatak” training or exercise, the toughest part of NSG.

Neha UnniKrishnan and 26/11 Mumbai Attacks

Sandeep Unnikrishnan is widely known as the most Sanguine personality of the mission Black Tornado which was performed against the Mumbai terror attack 26/11. It was considered the most disastrous, violent terror attack which started on 26 Nov 2008’s night when some of the areas were attacked in Bombay. 

Late at night, the attack was held on most beautiful and historical 100 yr old hotel, The Taj Mahal Palace.

Brave Sandeep Unnikrishnan was assigned as the head of the commando group for defending the Mumbai Taj Hotel attack. He entered with a squad of 10 elite soldiers by the staircase. They reached the rooms one by one where Sunil Kumar was caught in the fire on both legs. Sandeep gave instant support to injured Sunil Kumar and took him to a safe zone. He continued to fight for 15 hours. After that terrorists got a clear idea about commandos and they started continuously firing. Sunil Kumar Yadav was injured by 7 bullets. 

Sandeep Unnikrishnan was so concerned about his colleagues that he chose to handle all the terrorists by himself without anyone’s help while his allies were escaping from the danger zone. However, he was facing terrorists alone and lost his own life. Terrorists open fire on him, causing serious injuries all over his body. A great contribution by Sandeep Unnikrishnan saved the lives of people and he was lying in a pool of blood. His last statement was “Do not come to rescue me, I can take them.“

The tragedy of 26/11 will be remembered as it led to the killing of many innocent people and also the loss of the whole army team as they had lost the strongest, capable elite commando who himself sacrificed his precious life for a nation without a second thought.

Neha Unnikrishnan is remembered as the wife of Sandeep Unnikrishnan who had played an important role in the Mumbai terror attacks on 26/11 by standing alone and facing those terrorists to save the lives of many people. He was a strongly determined army officer who fought alone, helping injured commandos to reach the safety zone. During this, he continues to fight alone and gets shot in his right arm. People love him for his continuous struggle of fighting with terrorists even after getting injured. He fought this hid last breath. Sandeep Unnikrishnan has always been a spirited, courageous man who was always braced to take up every challenge with a burning zeal to overcome and reach the final aim. He is an influential personality for today’s young youth who have forgotten the hard-earned freedom of a nation. At his funeral, people chanted “Sandeep Unnikrishnan amar rahe”.

People remember him as the most credible officer. A wide crowd of people was outside his residence to pay respects. A Road in Bengaluru known as Mother Dairy Double Road was retitled as Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan to respect him. His mother was honoured with ashok chakra from president pratibha patil. 

The most famous film named Major starring Adivi sesh playing the role of Major Sandeep has been popular among people. The film was produced by Mahesh Babu who took initiative to pay respect to the great hero of 26/11 for his struggle to spruce up all the terrorists from Mumbai Taj hotel.
